THE VIRTUE OF SEEKING RELIGIOUS KNOLEDGE

In the name of Allah the Beneficent the Merciful. All praises and thanks are due to Allah, Lord of all that exists. Whom we thank, seek for help and invoke for forgiveness. We seek refuge with Allah from the evils within ourselves.
He whom Allah guides will never be misled and he whom He misguides will never find one to guide him. I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship expect Allah and Muhammad is His slave and messenger.
Knowledge (Al-ILM) is one of the most important pillars of Life. Knowledge is very significant in one’s life. You cannot understand yourself Without knowledge. How can one worship his Lord without knowing how to worship Him. You most know Him first before you worship Him. And you can not know Him without knowledge. Therefore seeking for knowledge is Compulsory upon all Muslims. Ignorant is not an excuse. Because of how important knowledge is, our beloved prophet (P. B. U. H) commanded all Muslims to go search for it even if it’s far as Sin(China).
There are so many Virtues and benefits in learning knowledge. The Messenger of Allah (P. B. U. H) said learning knowledge is a fear of Allah. Seeking for it is an act of worship, and studying it is a type of glorification of Allah. Searching for it is a Jihad.
Teaching it to those who do not know it is a charity. Jabir bin Abdullah reported that: “The prophet (P. B. U. H) said; whoever introduces a good practice in Islam will get its reward and the rewards for all those who follow these practices after him, without any loss to their reward’. Allahu Akbar! Allah is Merciful to the believers.
Ya Allah! Accept this piece work of mine, and make it to be of beneficial to my fellow brothers and sisters. Ya Allah! Purify my intention to write nothing except what I learned from the teaching of our beloved prophet. Ya Allah! Guide me to always do the right thing. Encourage me to keep doing things that will safeguard my religion.
O Allah! Provide me a wider understanding of the tenets of religion. The Messenger of Allah said “…. Whosoever Follow a path to seek knowledge therein, Allah will make easy for him a path to Jannah(paradise) ‘ Ya Allah, Ya Ar- rahman, make our path easy to Jannah. Ameen.
